About Parul Sharma

Parul Sharma is a novelist and essayist based in Singapore. She is the author of five books, including Bringing Up Vasu, By the Watercooler, Tuki’s Grand Salon Chase, and 17, Morris Road, which marked a turn towards writing deeply rooted in memory, place, and belonging.

Her forthcoming novel, The Missing Piece (Hachette, 2026), traces the journey of a young British-Indian girl in search of her ancestral home in the ancient mohalla of Bulandwada, exploring questions of inheritance, identity, and the roots we look for.

Parul’s work is known for its emotional acuity, sharp humour, and attention to the textures of everyday life. She currently writes across literary fiction and personal essays, often returning to themes of home, inheritance and the hold that ideas of home have over us.

She lives in Singapore with her family.
